A man accused of shooting near the Omaha Zoo is arrested

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Police are investigating a shootout that took place in South Omaha on Thursday.

Robert Nemeth, 28, has been booked in Douglas County for a gun used in a crime, possession of a gun by a prohibited person, and possession of meth with the intent of spreading it.

Police went to a restaurant in King Kong on South 13th Street at 4:31 pm Thursday to shoot. When they arrived, officers found 22-year-old Christopher Meadows in King Kong’s parking lot with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

Meadows was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center because of his injuries. Police say the car involved in the shooting is a white 2005-2010 Chevy Cobalt.
