First transit clinic for COVID vaccines in Greater Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Metropolitan Community College will soon be hosting a drive-up vaccination service on its Fort Omaha campus.

A college spokesman said the exact date has not yet been set, but they are working closely with Douglas County’s Health Department to maintain the efficiency and convenience of expanding the vaccine rollout.

The Fort Omaha campus is already a Test Nebraska site, and Chris Rodgers, president of the Douglas County Board of Health, said the site was ideal.

Rodgers described the great need for a mass vaccination site in northern Omaha, adding that parking there has a huge impact on why the site would work.

Volunteers can safely monitor people from their car for 15 minutes after taking them.
