Gunfire from officers results in a protest on the Omaha Police Headquarters

Tensions are high outside Central Police Headquarters in downtown Omaha on 15th and Howard Streets Friday night during a deadly gunfight demonstration in South Omaha earlier this week.

Some arrests were made;

Police say 35-year-old Kenneth Jones died Thursday night after being shot dead while in a traffic obstruction while fighting with officers.

One topic during the protest was the demand that the body camera footage from the shooting be released quickly.

“For some reason, I feel like they are editing body cam footage. Body Cam is not showing the real deal, ”a protester told 6 News.

The Nebraska State Patrol is involved in the investigation into the death, and there will be a grand jury investigation under state law.
