Kimara Snipes officially announces the candidacy for Mayor of Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Kimara Snipes officially announced her candidacy for Mayor of Omaha on Monday after qualifying as the first candidate to vote.
According to a press release from her campaign, Democrat Snipes is a member of the Omaha Public Schools Board of Education and president of the South Omaha Neighborhood Alliance. She currently works for a nonprofit for marginalized communities in Nebraska and is a member of the Heartland Workers Center, Mode Shift Omaha, and the Advisory Board of the Kroc Center.
In addition to announcing her candidacy, she also released early notices including: Omaha union leader Terry Moore, former U.S. Senator Ben Nelson, recent Democratic Congress candidates Kara Eastman and Ann Ashford, and former Senator Don Preister.
