The legendary program returns to RFD-TV in its original time slot on Sunday evening
OMAHA, Neb .– (BUSINESS WIRE) – Long before the days of internet and online streaming, families gathered around their TVs on Sunday nights and tuned in to Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. It was a simple and magical time.
Starting this Sunday April 4th, the magic of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom returns to television on RFD-TV. Viewers will air each week in their original 7pm CDT time slot and enjoy the original episodes, including updated content from Peter Gros, co-host of the original Wild Kingdom.
“I have fond memories of my time filming the original Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler,” said Gros. “I look forward to continuing their legacy and educating a new generation about the importance of protecting our natural world.”
Wild Kingdom holds a special place in the history and future of Mutual of Omaha, according to Keith Clark, Senior Vice President Brand Management at Mutual of Omaha.
“When we announced our new logo in November 2020, it was no coincidence that it featured a lion,” said Clark. “Our logo embodies our rich Wild Kingdom heritage while also reflecting our mission to protect our customers and what is important to them. Bringing Wild Kingdom back to television is just the first step in an exciting rejuvenation of this important brand equity. ”
“RFD-TV is all about family-oriented programming and we are so proud that Wild Kingdom can anchor our new primetime lineup on Sunday night,” said Patrick Gottsch, founder and president of the Rural Media Group. “Those who grew up with the Wild Kingdom have fond memories of seeing the world through the eyes of Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler. On behalf of the millions of avid television viewers and the digital audience of RFD-TV, I would like to thank Mutual of Omaha for making this legendary series available again. ”
