Omaha cops are due to assist with Biden’s inauguration later this month

(Omaha, NE) – Members of the Omaha Police Department will attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on January 20th.

The Omaha Police Department says thirteen of its officers will travel to Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, for the 2021 President’s inauguration. According to the OPD, these officials will serve as federal marshals and serve as uniformed members of the presidential inauguration team.

OPD says they have been helping with security and crowd control since the president’s inauguration in 2005. Up to 3,000 federal, state, county and local officials from the United States will attend the details.
