FARGO, ND – Omaha scored four runs in the third inning, beating North Dakota State 8-0 in a Summit League softball game on Sunday April 25 at Tharaldson Park. The second game of the scheduled double header was canceled due to inclement weather.

Omaha (12-24, 6-9 Summit) struggled with six hits in the third inning, including RBI singles from Izzy Eltze and Sydney Ross, before a single with two outs and two runs from Taylor Johnson.

The Mavericks made another run in the fifth, Eltze set a homer in the sixth with two runs in the foul bar of the right field and Janae Cameron in the seventh.

Omaha pitcher Kamryn Meyer scored nine goals in the win. Meyer retired 11 straight batters before going to Montana DeCamp on the fourth and limited the bison (13-23, 8-7 Summit) to a pair of singles on Sam Koehn’s fifth and DeCamp’s sixth.

The state of North Dakota is expected to host North Dakota in a series of four games next Saturday May 1st and Sunday May 2nd.
