Omaha girl arrested for manslaughter on June 24th

An Omaha woman was booked for two manslaughter on Sunday in a car accident on June 24th at 90th and Maple Streets in Douglas County Corrections, the Omaha Police Department said in a press release.

Chinyere Nwuju, 38, was the driver of a vehicle as it sped south on 90th Street at 9:11 p.m. on June 24, police said.

Nwuju turned on a red light and her Dodge Nitro collided with a Dodge Ram heading east on Maple Street.

The force of the collision cut the ram in half, police said. Nwujus Nitro traveled further south where he met a Jeep Renegade.

Nwuju was taken to CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital by ambulance. The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the jeep was not injured. Nwuju was treated for injuries and was sent to prison on Sunday.
