Omaha homicide suspect killed whereas tried arrest in Atlanta

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The US Marshall’s Service in Omaha has confirmed that 18-year-old Jaquan Haynes, wanted in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Omaha teenager Nomi Herrera, was attempted in an arrest was killed in Atlanta, Georgia.

On October 29, Omaha police responded to the 33rd and Weber for a personal injury report. Upon arrival, officers found Herrera suffering from a gunshot wound in the front seat of a vehicle. Herrera succumbed to her injuries in hospital on October 30.

According to Omaha Police, a 15-year-old teenage woman was arrested on November 6 for aiding and abetting first degree murder and an arrest warrant was issued for Jaquan Haynes.

Haynes was shot dead by law enforcement while serving a murder warrant, according to USMS.
