Omaha Police are investigating multiple shots fired calls

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police are investigating at least two shots that were fired early Sunday morning.

Gunshots rang out near 39th Street and around 2:30 a.m. in Miami. Police swarmed around the area and found a gun and dozens of shell casings.

A short time later, two people with gunshot wounds checked into separate hospitals. Both were taken to the hospital in private vehicles.

Omaha police say they believe this was related to calling the gunshots. Both victims are expected to survive.

They tell the police that they were in a car when they heard gunshots and realized they had been shot.

Another shot came just two hours later near 30th and Fort. The police cordoned off the area between the 27th and 30th and fort.

Investigators say they couldn’t find a victim and it is unknown whether the two calls are related.

No arrests have been reported in either of these incidents.
