Omaha police arrest after citizen experiences a person with a gun

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Fast-paced Omaha Police work arrests a man after a citizen tells officers he has a gun.

It ended at the 72nd road bridge over Papio Creek.

Police said officers were sitting in Walmart south of the 72nd and Pacific at around 12:45 p.m. when someone told them about the man with the gun.

Officers followed the car as it exited the Walmart parking lot and headed north on 72nd Street.

“I saw the garbage dump party being a weapon. After a brief chase, the car crashed here, ”said Lt. Steve King of the Omaha Police.

A cruiser was almost hit while in pursuit.

Police say they found a gun nearby. The man was taken into custody after he started running.

No one was injured in the incident.
