Omaha police assist with Biden’s housewarming safety in DC
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Thirteen Omaha police officers will travel to the country’s capital later this month to serve on the Protection Detail team for President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday, January 20.
An OPD spokeswoman said Thursday that officials will join about 3,000 police officers from local, state, regional and federal agencies across the country. All are represented as U.S. federal marshals to serve as uniformed members of the detail.
The department has been supporting security and crowd control at the presidential inaugurations since 2005, the spokeswoman said.
