Omaha Public Colleges to renew in-person tuition full time

(AP) – The state’s largest school district plans to bring students back to class every day for the first time since the pandemic began last spring.

The Omaha Public Schools announced Tuesday that their students will attend classes in person five days a week for the next month.

Currently, the district follows the Family 3/2 model, which means that only half of the district’s students are in class at a time, as students study remotely half the time.

Most other counties in the region already have students in their classrooms five days a week.

Omaha District officials said students will continue to have the option of attending the school remotely.

On Tuesday, the state reported 1,000 new virus cases and 19 deaths.
