Omaha squirrel behind election workplace Blackout has died

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – On election day, grim news came when the Omaha Public Power District reported that the squirrel responsible for a power outage at the Douglas County Election Commission has passed away.

“I’m sorry to report that the squirrel didn’t get through. RIP little squirrel, ”said OPPD on Tuesday afternoon via Twitter.

On Friday, the electoral commission suffered a power outage that left computer and telephone systems out of order for two hours.

Those in line to vote have been informed to return on Saturday.
