Omaha’s Precious McKesson and his daughter respond to the inauguration of Biden-Harris
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – There’s a woman who made electoral history in Nebraska last month who wishes she could have been there for the inauguration.
The precious McKesson, clad in blue, got emotional last month. For the only second time in Nebraska’s history, the state shared an election vote.
Known in political circles as the blue dot, Joe Biden indicated that he won Omaha but lost the rest of the state.
McKesson is the first woman and first African American to cast a vote for a Democrat in Nebraska.

“We fight every day to ensure that women have a seat at the table,” said Precious McKesson.
Last night she put aside whatever she would wear for the inauguration, even if it was in front of a television in her own house.
McKesson said, “I got my pearls and ‘we did it, Joe’ for Kamala and my Chuck Taylor.”
Precious McKesson makes pearls and a sweatshirt fashionable. She even showed me her Converse sneakers.

Since her daughter was studying afar in a different room today, the Omaha Democrat thought of her and all the other youngsters who saw the new vice president. A larger than life moment.
McKesson said, “I got very emotional when she walked in. Oh – she’s about to make history. All the little girls watch as she becomes the first woman to be sworn in. It was emotional. “
