One person injured in a cut in South Omaha, three people arrested
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police arrested three people in an incident in which one person was injured on Saturday night.
The people who were arrested are:
- Steve Gillette, 35, booked for driving while under the influence and carrying a hidden gun.
- Aaron Miranda-Quiroz, 35, booked a flight to avoid arrest.
- Rodolpho Mendoza, 31, has been booked for two second degree attacks, two cases of use of a weapon to commit a crime, two cases of terrorist threats and one case of possession of a gun by a prohibited person.
Officers walked near Railroad Ave in South Omaha at 11:06 p.m. to investigate a cut. It was recommended that a white Dodge RAM leave the scene.
Officers say in the original scene, Kevin Duran, 23, was treated by medics for a cut. Duran’s injury was minor and did not require additional maintenance.
The person was found to be cutting Duran and trying to cut someone else.
Police found the RAM truck and stopped on 30th Ames Ave. The driver and passenger were taken into custody.
A man who owned guns went to the officers and said he knew the people involved in the cutting.
Mendoza, Miranda-Quiroz and Gillette were taken to Omaha Police Headquarters for further questioning.
