Patriotic parade in downtown Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – People gathered in downtown Omaha on Friday evening to honor Gold Star families and veterans on Memorial Day.
People enjoyed a parade and concert despite the cooler than normal weather.
Patriotic Productions hosted the event. Governor Pete Ricketts also spoke at the event.
“Even tonight, I spoke to some of our veterans who, when they might come back from the Korean or Vietnam War, felt they weren’t getting the credit they deserved,” Ricketts said. “Indeed, we can never repay our veterans or their families for the sacrifices they have made for them.”
The event featured performances by Lee Greenwood and Grateful Heart.
