Police found a fireplace on the Village Inn in northwest Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Police Department called firefighters Thursday morning after seeing smoke at the Village Inn restaurant near 138th and Maple Streets.

Upon arrival, OFD crews forced entry and found the fire in the kitchen.

After the release, the fire was extinguished and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

A spokesman for VIllage Inn released the following statement: “Early in the morning of January 21st, a fire broke out at our location in 138th and West Maple and we are still working on the cause.

Most importantly, nobody was hurt. We thank the first responders for moving quickly and putting out the fire.

We look forward to reopening the restaurant and serving our valued guests as soon as it is safe to do so. “
