Robert Holts, a former Tuskegee Airman, retired in Omaha National Cemetery

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – An Omaha hero was brought to his final resting place on Wednesday.

Cpl. Robert Holts was the last known surviving Tuskegee Airman from Nebraska.

He died in February.

On Wednesday, the American Legion Post 32 received its final honors when Holts was buried in Omaha National Cemetery.

Members of the American Legion said it was a great honor to show respect to a man who has given our country so much.

“A gentleman who freed our country from tyranny in the 1940s. So it is with great pleasure that I do this, to honor large families who have sacrificed so much for us,” said David Guy. “I don’t ask for anything in return. This is my repayment for her. ”

Holts was 96.
