Rubbish assortment suspended on Mondays in Omaha
(Omaha, NE) – Garbage collection in Omaha will be suspended on Monday due to the forecast of freezing temperatures.
On Friday, Public Works announced that the collections would be exposed on Monday, February 15, 2021 due to the forecast of extreme cold and dangerous temperatures, which would lead to unsafe working conditions outdoors.
City of Omaha and FCC Environmental Services Nebraska announce that they will continue to monitor and evaluate the forecast conditions for the remainder of the week.
The collection will be postponed by one day from Monday. The Monday area will be picked up on Tuesday, the Tuesday area will be picked up on Wednesday, and so on for the rest of the week. Residents are asked to ensure that carts are parked by 6 a.m. on the scheduled pick-up day to ensure pick-up.
Missed collections can be reported to the hotline for solid waste at 402-444-5238 after 7:00 p.m. on the scheduled collection day.
