Shooting victims found at the scene of the accident overnight in northern Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Police are investigating a Friday morning shooting and crash that resulted in two people being rushed to the hospital.

A pickup truck and SUV crashed just after midnight on 52nd Street and Sorensen Parkway. When the police arrived, the driver of the truck had left, but officials discovered that the passenger, a 45-year-old man, was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Nebraska Medical Center with “potentially life-threatening injuries,” according to an OPD press release.

One person in the SUV was also seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, police were investigating the possible location of the shooting on 30th Street and Willit Street. Forensic scientists examined nearly a dozen evidence marks on the street.

Both areas were closed to traffic for some time, but have been reopened since then.

OPD said they are investigating further. Anyone with information on any of the incidents is encouraged to call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP or submit a tip online at omahacrimestoppers.org or on the P3 Tips app.
