Texas man extradited to Omaha for double homicide

(AP) – Police extradited a man to Omaha who was arrested in Texas last summer on suspicion of shooting two people outside an Omaha motel in July.

In a press release on Wednesday, police said John Parks Sr. was being taken back to Omaha and detained in Douglas County Jail on Tuesday.

Parks was arrested in Dallas in August on a Nebraska arrest warrant for first degree murder and other charges on the July 30 deaths of Nicole Hatten, 36, and Michael Harbor, 35.

Both were filmed outside a Best Western motel in southwest Omaha. Officials called into the motel found Hatten and Harbor with gunshot wounds and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The police did not give a motive for the shootings.
