OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A man arrested in Texas last summer on suspicion of shooting two people outside an Omaha motel in July was extradited to Omaha, police said.

John Parks Sr. was brought back to Omaha on Tuesday and detained in Douglas County Jail, police said in a press release on Wednesday.

Parks was arrested in Dallas on a Nebraska arrest warrant on charges of first degree murder and other charges in the deaths of Nicole Hatten, 36, and Michael Harbor, 35, on July 30. Both were shot down outside a motel in the Best Western in southwest Omaha.

Officials called into the motel found Hatten and Harbor with gunshot wounds and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The police did not give a motive for the shootings.
