The crews repair sinking manholes in West Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – For months traffic rolling over two sinking manholes has been making an irritating noise to neighbors near Roads 142nd and Harrison. But these residents now have some relief.

The neighbors had to endure the clanking and knocking of the street while they worked from home. 6 News contacted the Omaha Channel Maintenance staff and resolved the problem.

The crews were out first on Wednesday morning to tear out the sinking concrete slabs so that the repair work could be completed by the end of the week. then the street department will re-pour the concrete slabs. Hopefully everything will be done by Friday or early next week, depending on the weather, officials said.

The curb on busy Harrison Street closes during work, so drivers in the area can expect delays.
