The new pantry in South Omaha sees a growing need in the community

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – There’s a new pantry in South Omaha.

Located on South 25th Street in the San Andreas Lutheran Church, it is open every Thursday from 1pm to 4pm.

The pantry executive director said the volunteers and leadership team are fluent in English and Spanish and are working hard to meet the needs of the community.

“We almost started when the pandemic started,” said director Alejandra Rosas. “We had about 30 families and now we have almost 500 families a month. In the beginning it was just the Latino community … now we are multicultural. We have people from every church. “
