The Omaha FBI office arrests an Iowa man in connection with the Capitol riot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The FBI Omaha Field Office arrested a Cedar Rapids man who was reported to have participated in the Capitol riot in Washington, DC on January 6th.

According to a press release, Leo Christopher Kelly was arrested Monday by federal order by special agents from the Cedar Rapids Resident Agency of the FBI’s Omaha Field Office.

Federal charges include knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or premises without legal authority, as well as violent entry with the intent to disrupt the orderly conduct of official business and disorderly behavior on the Capitol grounds. The fees come from the events in the Capitol.

Kelly remains in federal custody. He will appear in federal court on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
