The town of Omaha calls “The Contractors” to clear the snow
As usual, the contractors will focus on residential Omaha areas, although they work earlier for this event.
“We want to get them in there and give them the opportunity to work before they all get home from work,” city engineer Todd Pfitzer told KFAB Radio News.
Pfitzer says there are some streets in the neighborhood that are clear thanks to the wind, but there are also places where it is drifting.
He says the wind-strewn snow is a different challenge.
“We don’t get a lot of snow, which is good, but it blows back on the road. So we have to walk our main routes and continue our main routes.” Said Pfitzer.
Over 100 trucks are battling the white stuff and the wind.
